Long Tail Boat Races in Satuk
Welcome to Satuke !!!

Satuke is located in the North-East of Thailand, the heart of Isaan (Thailand).

With about 25.000 residents Satuke is a small town. Primarily agricultural with strong family values, but it does have abundent nightlife.  In Satuk there are long distance busses available to Bangkok, Pattaya and Mukdahan. The BuriRam airport is only 10 minutes away and has 3 direct flights per week to and from Bangkok.

There are a lot of internet-cafe's, restaurants, markets, karaoke's, cosy resorts and a real western style hotel in the center of town.

You can compare the nature around Satuke with Discovery Channel and Animal Planet together, but its only a little bit hotter.
Long tailed boat races

One of the highlights of Satuke is the annual "long tailed boat races" held every year in early November.
The races are held on the Moon river, a tributary of the Mekong river.

2010 races: first weekend of November.
Elephant village
The elephant village is also in the Satuke area wich has over 60 elephants in their natural habitat.
In the village of Nam-Sai you can enjoy both a romantic picnic and paddle boats on the Moon river.

Sometimes Satuke is written as Satuk, Stuk or Satuek.
Isaan is sometimes written as Isan, Issan, Issaan, I-San or Esarn.
